Yes folk, I do indeed live in such a land, although it is known more generally as New Zealand. More recently it has been dubbed the Lands of Middle Earth, as Lord of the Rings-Fellowship of the Ring, was filmed entirely in this fair country. But that's enough about the scenery, I actually hail from Great Britain, the south coast to be precise, actually Goring by Sea (just down from Worthing and along from Littlehampton, Ferring, and Bognor Regis).
All riveting stuff, I hear you say, but if you don't want to know, you don't have to read. I've lived in NZ for the past 30 years (cripes, is it that long ?) in a little town called Howick, a suburb of the great City of Sails, Auckland. (Home of the America's Cup-just thought I'd mention that!) I live with my two daughters and one old, rather delapidated, earless white cat, called Bodie (after Bodie and Doyle, The Professionals)...we used to have a Doyle (looked alot like Sylvester) but he is now demised *sigh*.( I should mention we also had a ginger cat called Cowley, but he ran away)
Update
Recently I moved house,(July 04) down country to a small seaside town called Paraparaumu, on the west coast, (known as the Kapiti Coast because of a large offshore island of the same name) about an hour north of the capital, Wellington (or Wellywood as it is fondly known after the success of LOTR). We now have two new female cats - Bodie died 18 months ago. We did briefly have a kitten named Nelson, with one eye, but he died prematurely after we had him only a few months. Now we have two escapee's from the SPCA - Jasmine (9yr old tabby/tortershell cross) and Ripley(4yr old brindly coloured gawd knows what breed, crossed with everthing colour).
I have always been a big fan of SF, both in books, on video and any other medium you care to mention. At one time I collected SF movie posters, especially Star Wars, and movie stills. But they all (mostly) had to be sold to pay bills (divorce sucks). Now I surf the web, cyber chatting with friends about LIS and LOTG, the Xfiles, write my stories, yell at the kids, carpool most days, drink copious cups of tea with my mum (usually down at the beach), and generally enjoy my life, in my own, peculiar manner.
I could call myself a rather boring individual...don't drink, don't smoke, don't have a social life, don't have a sex life, watch waaaaay too much tv, spend ridiculous amounts of time in front of the 'puter, and occasional venture out to thrash around the poor plants in the garden. But I reckon, to each his own, and live and let live. Life is too short to worry about what other people think about how you live your life, so I will continue to write my stories, continue to live my sedate, unexciting life, and watch my beautiful daughters grow up. That's quite exciting enough for me.
Thank you for reading...enjoy the rest of the site.
